Rudy Giuliani, the 2008 Republican Presidential candidate and the former New York Mayor has publicly stated that the United States should use a terrorist group to launch a military attack on Iran’s civilian infrastructure – the nuclear power plants. Giuliani is not alone in his support of the Mujahedin-e Khalq terrorist cult (MEK, also known by other acronyms such as MKO, NCRI). Many prominent voices have put their weight behind the terrorist group.
This must be a rude awakening for the American public. After hundreds of thousands of lives lost, trillions of dollars spent on waging a war on terror --“fighting them over there so they don’t come over here”, what has come home with the body bags and the debt is the realization that “they”, the terrorists ARE here - and they have out politicians in their pockets.
Many citizens fail to understand Incomprehensible as the actions of these distinguished MEK supporters may be, it may well be that they take comfort in the fact that it is the MEK that is buying their lip service and not vice versa. Perhaps they would rather line their pockets instead of asking where the money comes from. But the question does bear asking.

It is no surprise we have an sliding rule in this country about the very notion/definition of "terrorism", hence government officials such as Giuliani as well as Michael Mukasey, Tom Ridge, and Fran Townsend can enter this orgy of patronizing the MEK, a group declared by the U.S. to be “terrorist organization” since 1997 , and has been involved in numerous violent actions over the years. In fact this is the same group responsible for the 1979 takeover of the U.S. embassy in Tehran by Iranian revolutionaries” and “the killings of U.S. military personnel and civilians working on defense projects in Tehran in the 1970s.
ReplyDeleteNow why likes of Giuliani along with former Bush officials Michael Mukasey, Tom Ridge appear at a forum organized by supporters of the Mujaheddin-e Khalq (MEK),in Paris, and expressed wholesale support for that group on foreign soil and vehemently criticize their own country’s opposition to these Terrorists and specifically demand that President Obama take MEK off the U.S. list of foreign terrorist organizations?
The answer is simple, because they want to use that group’s Terrorism to advance U.S. aims. Using Terrorism on behalf of American interests is always permissible, because the actual definition of a Terrorist — the one that our political and media class universally embraces — is nothing more than this: “someone who impedes or defies U.S. will with any degree of efficacy.”
Even though the actions of these officials violate every alleged piety about bashing one’s own country and may very well constitute a felony under U.S. law, Giuliani and alike will be shielded from criticisms because they want to use the Terrorist group to overthrow a government that refuses to bow to American dictates. Embracing Terrorist groups is perfectly acceptable when used for that end. That’s why these government officials will never be deemed Terrorist supporters by the DOJ or establishment media outlets, even though what they’ve done makes them, by definition, exactly that.
